Lolita Minako

I started cosplaying in 2002 in a HUGE Sailor Moon group for Megacon 2002 (I was Sailor Venus), and I knew it was love, lol. I now work full-time at Disney doing Operations, and loving it! ^__^ I have a twin sister (Neko~Kaolla on here!!), who also cosplays! My hobbies inlude theatre and choir (among others). I am also a lover of BJDs, and I now have 5 of my own, and their pics may be seen scattered throughout my galleries. My mom says that I never grow up! =] But she means it in the nicest way possible, trust me! I direct the Fantasy Masquerade at METROCON, and I LOVE stage combat - especially sword fighting! I got to play Tohru Honda (my signature cosplay, I guess) in two years of the Original Anime Human Chess Match at METROCON and once in the Fantasy Masquerade. Performing is my life! I am a really nice person (so I am told, XD) and I love to talk to people and help people, so feel free to PM or whatever!!

What got you into cosplay?
My friend Jacqui (alias Katrina Strife) went to a convention while we were in high school, cosplayed, and told me about it. I went, "OMG I WANNA DO THAT!!" and we organized a huge Sailor Moon group to perform "Sailor War Supreme" at Megacon 2002.
What was your first costume and why?
Sailor Venus in a full 12 person cast of Sailor Moon. We made the group to sing "Sailor War Supreme" at Megacon 2002 and won Best Group!
What is your favorite costume and why?
My Tohru Honda costumes. They are comfortable and I have some great memories with them. METROCON's Original Anime Human Chess Match and Fantasy Masquerade, to name some!
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Cinderella's ball gown from Disney's Cinderella. She has always been my favorite Disney princess!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Playing Misato in an Evangelion group at AFO4 (2003). We changed the words to "Yatta!" to make it relevant to the characters and even had a banner with the NERV logo and red oak leaves and our Shinji jumped through the banner in his underwear. N-E-R-V LEAVES! XD We won Best Comedy and had a grand time.
Do you participate in masquerades?
In more ways than one. By means of contests, only when I am INCREDIBLY proud of a piece, and by literal "Masquerades," well, I direct the Fantasy Masquerade event at METROCON now. I also collect masks, too...but I digress... >.>;;
What was your best masquerade experience?
The Contest version would be when me and my friend, Preston (alias PokePres) were Kairi and Sora at Megaocon 2006. We got a great response from the crowd. In the literal Masquerade Ball version, playing Tohru in METROCON's version of Beauty and the Beast.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Best Group at Megacon 2002 (Sailor Moon Characters) and Best Original/Other at AFO5 (Mew of Pokemon). I have also won a handful of hall awards here and there.
Tell us a little about yourself
I am not currently in school, but I have an AA in Music Education at a local Community College, and I plan to go back to get a degree in Public Relations. I work full-time at Walt Disney World, and I love it, and my "other gig" as I call it is Director of the Fantasy Masquerade at METROCON. I collect ABJDs and I love to host doll meets (it is a great way to make friends) and "doing faceups," which is putting the face on a blank doll. Another hobby is performing, from acting to singing to stage combat! XD
