What got you into cosplay?
When I was very young I used to watch Gundam Wing, Sailor Moon, and the Dragon Ball series on Cartoon Network in the late 90s. I actually had no idea it was considered to be part of a sub catagory of cartoons called Anime until I was in middle school. A girl, who became a good friend up until we graduated high school, introduced me to anime conventions and cosplay when I was 11. I went to all of the Dallas conventions until graduation; I got burned out.
Now after three years, my love of the creativity and enginuity of cosplay is re-newed! <3
What was your first costume and why?
Technically my first cosplay was Shampoo from Ranma 1/2. It was a horrible closet cosplay, I admit, but I was 11 and the con was only 2 days away!
The first costume I ever crafted was Demon Slayer Sango from Inuyasha! Thinking back on it, it was not all that great, but I was 12 and spent all summer making it. So when Anime Fest Dallas came around in September, I was tickled pink to wear it :)
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
The costume I would love to make most is AndraIa from Reboot! As a little girl, she was my favorite character from the series. I admired how feminine, yet strong she was!
Do you participate in masquerades?
No, but I'd love to!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Never participated!
Tell us a little about yourself
I grew up in the Dallas area, but I am currently a student in Oklahoma trying to get a degree in Microbiology. I commute between Dallas and Norman so I go to both Texas and Oklahoma cons. Anyone feel free to chat me up!
My favorite game(s)
Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Pokemon (I proudly admit to playing the old Gameboy!), Call of Duty, and Dead Space.
