What got you into cosplay?
The first time I went to Sakura-Con in 2002, I cosplayed. But, that really didn't get me into cosplay. I went to Anime Evolution'06 and wore my Human!Luna costume for the first time. For all the attention I got in that costume, I realized it is a lot of fun, not just something that has to be done at a convention.
What was your first costume and why?
Like most people, my first costume was from Sailor Moon. I was Michiru Kaiou from Sailor Moon S. It was the school uniform for Winter. I remember being at my friend's place the night before and her sewing it. While it wasn't that great of a costume, I still have a lot of good memories in it.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Princess Kakyuu. Oh man, this costume is so worth the pain that I get from wearing it. But, it gets so much positive attention and I'm very pleased with the final result. Please note: This is my first costume that I did 80% on my own.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I have a list of "dream" costumes. But, every time I finish one, I take it off the list.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Sakura-Con 2007 on Friday. A bunch of other Sailor Moon cosplayers met up together and this little girl dressed as Tuxedo Mask came up with a group of Inner Senshi. The little girl was so adorable. I knelt down in front of her and handed her my rose. Someone managed to catch a picture of it, and it's the cutest thing in the world!
Do you participate in masquerades?
I used to all the time. But, once I left Miracle Senshi, the cosplay group I used to be apart of, I stopped. I plan to once in a while with certain costumes. I have a few ideas that I want to enact.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Kumori-Con 2004. I was still apart of Miracle Senshi and we performed 'Broken Mobius' from the Sailor Moon Musicals as Sailor Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. We had a blast in that performance.
