About Me / Q&A

What got you into cosplay?
I was already involved with LARPs when I went to my first anime convention, so dressing up was something I was already used to. The concept of being able to portray characters I loved while hanging with friends appealed to me. Also, attention. Who doesn't enjoy getting attention.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was Parn from Records of Lodoss War. It was terrible. I chose it because it was my favorite anime and I really liked the character of Parn. This year will be my tenth time attending Sakuracon, and I'm going to revisit him and get the costume right!
What is your favorite costume and why?
My favorite costume has to be my Sith Lord. I learned a lot about sewing from constructing the cloak, and more about electronics like EL lighting and LED lighting for cosplay. In the process of making the costume I learned how to make light saber props, as well as just use all sorts of electronics in general for costuming.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I have a never ending dream list of costumes I'd like to make. Being able to do Parn and actually have a Deedlit with me pretty much is shaping up to be a big dream fulfillment cosplay.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I do participate in masquerades when I get the chance.
