What got you into cosplay?
It's all my friend Tanya's fault! ;) She was the first person I knew who cosplayed. She piqued my interest, and I was instantly addicted, even before deciding on my first costume!
What was your first costume and why?
Kikyo from InuYasha. I was taking 21 credit hours (7 classes, mostly hard sciences) that semester and I wanted to make a costume that I was already familiar with, could get done in a decent amount of time, and still had enough details for me to indulge my OCD.
What is your favorite costume and why?
So far, Kikyo. I put a ton of work into it when I should have been studying (and it's one reason my grades were not quite what I needed them to be) and had a blast doing it. The first time I wore it, I got lots of compliments, and then I was the only Kikyo at my first con. That just made my day, and tons of folks complimented me. I even got glomped for the first time! :)
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Katsumi Liquer from Silent Mobius and/or Sister Rosette Christopher from Chrno Crusade.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Momocon 2005, my first convention. It was the most exhilarating experience of my life. I was on a cosplay high for weeks afterwards!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Not yet...maybe some day.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a first-year vet tech student and work as a receptionist at a vet clinic. I have 3 guinea pigs, 2 cats, and a male betta. I've got tons of hobbies and interests outside of anime and cosplaying, but most of them are on hold at the moment due to lack of time, money, or space to indulge them.
