I'm more of a casual cosplayer rather than a competitive one. Cosplay to me is only a hobby, real life such as work, family and my health is more important to me than cosplay, cosplay is not serious business for me. I will not enter a costume that has previously won an award into another competition unless I'm in a different group or I have re-made the costume. Why would you enter a costume that has won before? If you win another award with it you are just taking it from another person who may deserve it. That is just bad form. I also make my own costumes. I wouldn't commission or buy any, even wigs I style myself from plain wigs or even make them from scratch.
