What was your first costume and why?
Frida from Bust-a-Groove, it was one of the first music games I really got into before DDR became huge. Her stage and song was probably my favorite and other than Shorty she was one of the only ones I thought I could do easily.
Sadly it came out absolutely horrible since the bleach and dye job I did to get her hair color went horribly wrong and was this nasty blueish black color. Somehow also during the weekend I was mistaken as Chang Wufei while in normal clothings (a pair of white mac gear pants and a blue tank top with a bunch of bracelettes on each arm) so I guess that was also my first time crossplaying as well.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I actually have a couple, the one I've worn the most and have had the best time in is probably either of my Roxas cosplays. It was one of the fastest costumes at about 3 days of work for the overall costume and first Org jacket.
The second is probably Ashura, for a somewhat last second decision to make it I probably learned the most while working on it. Between making the designs on both cloaks I made for the group with Lyn and just how it all came together I learned a ton in the process.
The 3rd is probably Pit, making this costume kind of tied something from my childhood to my current hobby. Kid Icarus was one of my favorite games as a kid and when I found out he was in Smash Brothers I HAD to make the costume.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
There really isn't a dream costume for me since I normally attempt to make most of the costumes I want to make but there are 2 big ones I would like to do.
The first of the 2 I am actually taking a crack at once I get everything worked out. This would be Dark Armor Riku from Kingdom Hearts. For the past 2 years my weight and skills have kept me from doing this costume. After dropping 10 pounds and 2 years of sewing and crafting I believe I'm finally ready to take a crack at it.
The second is Serge from Chrono Cross or the artbook version of Sayoran from Tsubasa.
