What got you into cosplay?
I've always wanted to cosplay, a long time before I knew of the word. Maybe it's because I'm a bit of an escapist. Dressing in a costume you really like is magical.
What was your first costume and why?
I have no idea what my first costume was, but my first real cosplay as cosplay was the adult version of Princess Zelda, from Ocarina of Time. I had also made a companion costume for my fiance, he was Link. Since after the release of Ocarina of Time, we have heard that these would make good costumes for us. Just before playing the game in 2002 or 2003, I was looking at the official art and considered these designs as costumes. After starting the game, I was certain.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
So many, but I wonder if I'm getting too old and am too slow of a worker to achieve many more.
A few, but not all:
Deedlit/Estas from Record of Lodoss War, Deedlit's Tale--Deedlit may have been my first desired cosplay.
Pirotess and Ashram, but only if I could be tan for a single day. But I do not allow myself to tan.
Sephiroth (shh--for myself!).
Alucard from Castlevania for my fiance.
Lina and Gourry from The Slayers--These could be a lot of fun wearing for us! Link and Zelda are like our quieter, better sides and Lina and Gourry are like some of our worst.
The other dream costumes are secrets!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
At AWA, first time cosplay was a shock. We were instantly like celebrities as soon as we left our room outside the convention hotel. Some people at our hotel and at the convention were intoxicated. On e particular fellow ran into my group many times that night, and every time, he was enormously excited to see Link and I. My AWA companions still bring this guy up all the time. He is a reason why I look so unhappy in a few photos. At some point during a photo hug, my armor was getting damaged! But I didn't want to be mean about it. Also, a certain man from this website took photos of us that we were rather ill-prepared for (stand back if you're using a flash!). That wasn't happy. It was an interesting night and I learned a lot from it.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
We're a little shy.
Tell us a little about yourself
I am a homemaker, and I'm trying to figure out what I'd like to do. Learn a trade? Go back to art school? Get a job? I want to travel, so the last thing is probably a good option. It will fund my travels and my cosplay. Cosplay and travel are expensive activities!
My favorite anime
Berserk, The Slayers, Record of Lodoss War, Cooking Master Boy, Angel's Egg, The Weathering Continent, Genshiken, Gankutsuo, Kannazuki no Miko, Spice and Wolf, Last Exile, Rurouni Kenshin (--just the OAVs), The Tale of Genji (yes, it exists), Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam.

Books: The World of The Shining Prince, The Tale of Genji, The Tale of Murasaki, Memnoch the Devil, Cry to Heaven, The Lord of the Rings, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.
My favorite movies(s)
I'm not a big fan of movies. I've only seen a few in the last few years. I like Akira Kurosawa, and Japanese horror. I liked the first Onmyoji. I really loved The Lord of the Rings. I've learned to love Interview with the Vampire after the failure of the last Vampire Chronicles film. I like Splash. I guess I like things with interesting costumes the best!
