What got you into cosplay?
I've always been interested in dressing up in costumes, mainly for Hallowe'en, and I've loved anime for years. I only "discovered" cosplay in 2003, and thought I'd give it a try at Dragon*con that year ^_^
What was your first costume and why?
I picked this costume because it made me feel very feminine. At the time, I worked in a lab in a brewery, so I had to clomp around in steel-toe/steel-shank boots, and wear sloppy clothes that can get splattered in smelly yeast and beer.
Sometimes ya just gotta feel girly! ^_^
What is your favorite costume and why?
I don't have a true favourite yet. I was a student for many (too many, haha) years so I did not have much time for any hobbies at all, so mostly all I had was costume plans, not actual costumes.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I don't really have a specific "dream" costume at this time. Right now I'm too focused on trying to make my *current* costumes turn out like they are supposed to, let alone super-fancy dream ones!
Do you participate in masquerades?
I'm still a beginner, learning how to make costumes, so no.
What was your best masquerade experience?
I wasn't a participant, but I *really* enjoyed watching the Masq at Anime North 2007!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Tell us a little about yourself
I've earned two biology degrees (biotechnology and microbiology). I'm proud of them, but I'm glad it's over because they kept me too busy and too poor to cosplay for several years. Now I'm done and in the real working world, so I have time and money to cosplay now!
Well, almost. The job ate all my time, and the house ate all my money.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I like pie.
My favorite game(s)
World of Warcraft
My favorite book(s)
