What got you into cosplay?
My first convention; that being Otakon 2004. Some friends from a club online that I was a part of called Final Fantasy Club X had a big group meeting up there. I heard about it and wanted to join for the 2nd annual gathering. Knowing it involved cosplay and already becoming more interested and involved with anime/video games I decided to give it a try...and I discovered that...cosplay...is amazing.
What was your first costume and why?
Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. FF is my favorite game series and he looked so awesome in his new attire for this movie. I couldn't resist.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Rawr. They're all fun... All my costumes have had their moments.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Its ever changing. XD Since I've already done Delita...Amano Golbez, Casshern, and Dragoon!Rose from Legend of Dragoon are sitting on my dream/eventual cosplay list. XD
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Just having people notice and compliment my costumes along with the random hugs. :D I just want to be noticed. ^.~ Ranking up with that, participating in photo shoots and just meeting new people and making conversation is just a great feeling and experience. But most of all...its all the friends that I hang out with. We have some of the silliest, wierdest fun and I can't get enough of it. XD
Do you participate in masquerades?
Mmhmm.
What was your best masquerade experience?
They're all fun...especially waiting in line and chatting with the other cosplayers. :D
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
1. My Amano Sephiroth won 2nd place in Yoshitaka Amano's contest at Oni-con 2007 and best in show at All-con 2007's Cosplay Contest. 2. Dirty Chopsticks Cosplay won Best Costume Group at AnimeFest 2007 for our Final Fantasy Unlimited group. ^.^ 3. Our Akatsuki trio won Gren's judge's award at Ikki-con 2008. 4. My Folken Fanel won Best in Moderate at Izumi-con 2008.
Tell us a little about yourself
Keeping it simple. I just graduated from the Univ. of North Texas. I play drumset, rpgs/other video games, watch anime, and live my dorky life (which includes spending lots of time and money on cosplay x.x; ). Some dreams of mine: Play in a famous rock band; play in a J-Rock band, rip through dimensions and end up in some fantasy/anime/video game-ish world. Jobs I wouldn't mind having: Translating, working for an anime/video game company.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I think Dream Theater are the incarnations of gods.
