What got you into cosplay?
Well, my friends had told me about cosplaying and how much fun it was, and I loved anime, so I decided to go with them to Anime Expo 2011 for the first time.
What was your first costume and why?
Makimachi Misao from Rurouni Kenshin! I love her character and outfit, and I thought it would be good for a first cosplay.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Hmmm, my favorite...
I don't really have one. I enjoyed making and wearing them all. I'd say my most "successful" and complex one was my Luka costume though.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Wearing my Luka costume at Anime Expo 2012. My costume caught the attention of many people and I made wonderful friends while I was dancing to K-pop.
Do you participate in masquerades?
My friends and I have thought about it and even wrote a script for a skit, but never went through with it, so no, not yet.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I haven't joined any costume contests, so no, but my friend and I won an award for our K-pop singing and dancing skillzz at ALA! ;D
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a college student & I have an older sister who thinks I'm much too obsessed with anime and K-pop (but she's obsessed with BBC stuff and many other TV shows, soooo...). I did color guard in high school and then worked as a coach for that until recently. I also play violin and dance ballet and jazz.
