What got you into cosplay?
Going to my first con (CNAnime 2001) and seeing people dressed up as their fav characters. I loved the idea and I started Cosplaying at AN 2002.
What was your first costume and why?
Li Syaoran from Card Captor Sakura. I loved his outfit and his personality, in fact, he is one of my all time favourite Anime characters. (^_^)
What is your favorite costume and why?
I have a lot of favourites but currently I think my Heather (Silent Hill 3) costume is my favourite one. First of all, the costume is pretty comfy and isn't very complicated to wear and put on. Of course, the biggest reason why I love it is because of the sentimental value of Cosplaying from one of my absolute favourite video game franchises of all time. I adore the Silent Hill game series for its intensity, brilliance and extreme fright factor. Cosplaying from the series is a sort of dream I had. Now that I started Cosplaying from the series I think I think I'll be making more costumes from it in the future. :3
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I would love to do some of the complex dress designs by CLAMP and Dilandau from the Vision of Escaflowne. I love Dilandau! (^^)
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Every experience is a little different. I think I found wearing my Cooro costume to be the most memorable experience because every time I was recognized, it meant a lot to me (since +Anima isn't very well known).
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes. (^^) My first masquerade was CNAnime 2003 and I plan to enter more masquerades from time to time in the future.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Being part of the Link dance skit at CNAnime 2004. I had trouble learning the dance and was the weakest Link in the group, but it was tons of fun to perform and I got to be part of a group with my friends Jen, Lauren, Hannah, Bonnie and Amanda. It was great and our group did very well. (^^)
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Not for workmanship. I tend to steer away from that kind of judging and prefer to be judged based on performance. I don't think my costumes are all that incredible; I just like having fun while wearing them. (^_^)
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm addicted to Anime, Cosplaying and Anime Cons. I just graduated from the University of Toronto and I'm looking for my dream job. I like hanging out with my friends and playing video games (especially of the horror variety).
