What got you into cosplay?
A group of my friends were planning on going to NYCC 2012 as characters from The Mighty Thor. About a month before the con they informed me that I was coming with them and was going to be dressed as Amora. I said ok and got to work making the outfit.
What was your first costume and why?
Amora the Enchantress. I got talked into by a group of my friends who were going to a con as Thor characters. It wasn't too difficult to talk me into it though; I already adored the character. I love a snarky girl who chases after hulking blond vikings screaming, "let me love you!!!"
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
On the last day of NYCC 2012, my Asgardian group and I were tired of all the corset, metal, fur, and heels out costumes required. So we put on half out costumes, walked to Party City, bought obnoxiously colored shutter shades, and went as hungover Aspartyians instead. We were comfortable, had a blast, people still stopped us for pictures, and got a lot of laughs.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Shockingly, yes. Everyone in my Asgardian group of NYCC 2012 won in categories at Marvel's official costume contest. I won for best villains with a whole bunch of Lokis!
I also placed 2nd at Burcon '13 as Jo Harvelle from Supernatural.
