What got you into cosplay?
I've always loved dressing up. My interest was really sparked by places like Medieval Times, the dinner show, and the PA Renaissance Faire. Where I learned that dressing up wasn't just for Halloween. It was in my 11th grade year of high school that I realized a lot of the shows I enjoyed in my younger years were anime. I then heard about Otakon and ever since have been on a quest to get there. Finally, this year of 2013 I will get to go in August.
What was your first costume and why?
My first official cosplay costume was/is Mew from Pokemon. I made both the ears and tail for a Memorial Day Pokemon Party one of my best friends put on. She is the main reason I've regained interest in cosplay and conventions again.
What is your favorite costume and why?
My favorite? Oh my.. well I really only have one real cosplay. And that's Mew. But I feel my Kitsune deserves some mention. I had made the mask for it by covering it in fabric. It was originally created in haste for a masquerade/birthday party. But I revised its design for a Halloween Party in 2012. It consists of the mask I made, a real fox tail and a kimono I purchased in China Town. I adore foxes and the kitsune folklore; so I suppose you could say it is my favorite. ^^
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
xenomorph armor. Basically I'd still be me, but it'd be like I stole the skin from one of the aliens from Alien (Aliens, AvP, etc) to wear for protection.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I'll get back to this in August of 2013 to tell this story. xD
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yeah, sure! :)
What was your best masquerade experience?
I loved the Halloween/Masquerade parties me and a friend would put on back in high school. We use to rent out the fire hall and put on these elaborate parties taking place in different times and fantasies. My favorite was when said friend, me and her mother dressed as royal members throwing a party on a roof top. Over the summer me and her mother painted dots for stars, and galaxies on table cloth to put on the walls and ceiling. We had a fog machine to make it feel like you were in the clouds. And the stairs were lined with fake ivy with creepy swamp sounds and night time forest sounds. Her mom took the time to learn how to write in calligraphy and made a journal about unicorns and dragons and other fantasy creatures. Her mom was mother Phoenix. I was princess of the dragons. And my friend was princess of unicorns/Pegasus'

Tell us a little about yourself
I own a fabric shop on 4th street's "Fabric Row" in Philadelphia. I do custom sewing work; mainly home decor. With cosplaying entering my life I foresee some clothing sewing in the works as well.
