What got you into cosplay?
I went to my first con in 2002 where I heard about cosplay for the first time. So in 2003 I decided to give it a try, and it just made the whole experience so much more enjoyable! That and I always liked coming up with Halloween costumes. ^_^;;
What was your first costume and why?
Heh, Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing because I wanted to start easy, but that doesn't mean I cut corners. I wanted a costume that didn't require a wig, but that was easy enough so I could work in all the little details. Wish I had better picture of it, though...
What is your favorite costume and why?
Oh gosh, Sai from Hikaru no Go and Chrno from Chrno Crusade came out really well and are a lot of fun to wear. Though I also really like the Nico Robin I made for my sister...
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Several. ^_^;; But the biggest would be Gundam Deathscythe Hell Custom, wearing Endless Waltz Duo's outfit on the inside, of course. Let's just say I love cardboard and a good challenge.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Well... I convinced my roommate to be my photographer - I needed updated pictures of my Chrno costume, and I so wanted to take them at the cemetary right next to campus. ^_^;; I had also always wanted snowy pics, and as we had a miraculous snow day, we set off into the high drifts. I hate snow, really, but it was so much fun! XD We got some great shots, and had a great time (without being disrespectful to property or others as no one was there).
Do you participate in masquerades?
No... too shy. ^_^;;
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Well, my Sai costume won a hall cosplay award. It may not be a 1st place ribbon or anything, but I'm proud of it. Also, my Chris costume was one of the winners for the Cosplay.com Scrapped Princess contest. And I was 1 of 2 first place winners at the costume contest for the final Harry Potter book as a Ravenclaw student, though the turnout was pretty poor. ^_^;;
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm currently 24, though I've recently been mistaken for a 13 year old based on looks alone, and I finally graduated after 5 years (and a summer...) of college due to deciding on my major late. ^_^;; My sis is my cosplay partner, and I'm always making costumes for her as well as myself, but since we're pretty much the same size, we can share. I just hope that now that she has a full time job and is married she can still make it to cons with me - it's just not the same without her. We also had our first artist's table at Ohayocon 2007, and it was a blast! We hope to continue with that for many cons to come.
