What got you into cosplay?
I had no idea what cosplay was until I went to my first convention and saw all the wonderful costumes. I promised myself that the next convention I attended I would be in costume.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was Lina Inverse from Slayers. I chose this costume since Slayers was really the first long anime that I ever watched that did not air on television.
What is your favorite costume and why?
As of right now my favorite costume that I have made is my Eternal Sailor Neptune. Since the beginning I had always wanted to do that costume but felt I did not have the skills or knowledge to make the costume look the way I envisioned it. It was not until recently that I had the motivation to make it.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
My dream costumes are the extremely intricate formal robes worn by the four dragon brothers from Sohryuden (designs by CLAMP). I am curious if I will ever make these since I need such a variety of knowledge to even attempt to make them. Only time will tell.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I would have to say wearing the sailor neptune costume since I got so many compliments. I had people tell me it was the best eternal sailor scout costume they had ever seen. I also had tons of little girls want to take their picture with me. It made me feel great.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I have not, I really only enjoy hall cosplay.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I have won a few awards for my Yuuko, Scrapped Princess, and Gankutsuou costumes. Generally I don't enter the costume contests. I feel it takes too much time out of the convention. I go to the convention to be in costume but to also enjoy all the panels and showings.
Tell us a little about yourself
I graduated from undergraduate school at Oglethorpe University over two years ago. I got my BA in psychology and I am currently working as the Intern Program Manager for a major pharmacy company. I am currently in graduate school at Georgia State working on my MBA in Human Resources.
My favorite anime
As of right now my favorite animes are Bleach, Full Metal Panic, Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari, Basilisk, and Mirage of Blaze.
My favorite game(s)
My top two favorite games are Kingdom Hearts and the Prince of Persia games.
My favorite book(s)
My all time favorite book is Interview with the Vampire but I adore all the books by Jim Butcher.
My favorite character(s)
My favorite charachers are Yuuko (xxxholic), Tenzen (Basilisk), Sagara Sousuke (Full Metal Panic), D (Vampire Hunter D), and Ichimaru (Bleach).
My favorite movies(s)
My favorite movies are Interview with the Vampire, Gone with the Wind, The Lord of the Rings, Underworld, and Donnie Darko.
My favorite actors/actresses
Brad Pitt has always been one of my favorite actors. I also adore James Stewart, Jonny Depp, and Michael Rosenbaum. I also think Nickole Kidman is one Hollywood's finest actresses.
