About Me / Q&A

What got you into cosplay?
One summer, I did nothing but watch Hetalia and Vocaloid cosplay videos and read up stories about convention experiences. I admired those who were able to cosplay with as much freedom as they had, since my parents were strict and I would have to write an equivalent to a fifty page essay to even let them consider letting me do something like this. I'm not very experienced at cosplay, but that is the reason I joined the site-to learn more about what I could do to improve my costumes and to cosplay in general.
What was your first costume and why?
Technically, my first costume was a (horrid) Hungary closet cosplay/Pokemon Touko. Touko was my first "homemade" costume, whereas my Namine Ritsu costume was the first one I have purchased. The reason I did Hungary/Touko was because I had hair that fit the characters. The reason I got my Ritsu cosplay was because I saw it and immediately decided I wanted it in my closet, as well as the fact I didn't see many pictures of Ritsu cosplays floating around.
What is your favorite costume and why?
That would be a tie between my Namine Ritsu costume and my Fem!Waluigi costume. I like my Ritsu costume because, well, it's a unique specimen in my area, and for the past two Halloweens that I've worn it to school it's made some heads turn! It's also the costume I wore to Anime Blast Chattanooga 2013, and because of it I have met some very interesting people. I like my Fem!Waluigi because it was actually designed around a pair of shoes my grandmother purchased for my sister years ago. They looked like orange Mary Janes with a Waluigi twist to them, and that's what inspired the rest of the costume.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
As of right now, I'd love to make a genderbent Princess Daisy (Prince Daniel, as I call it) cosplay. I'd also like to make an Oshawott cosplay.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
My favorite cosplay experience happened just recently. Cosplaying as Namine Ritsu at Anime Blast Chattanooga 2013, I was able to meet some very cool people!
Do you participate in masquerades?
I don't even know how they work, to be honest.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Not a single award. Then again, I haven't been cosplaying for very long.
