What got you into cosplay?
When I saw a cute outfit in an anime or video game, I really wanted a cute outfit like them. I decided, 'hey... if they have an outfit like that.. then surely I'd be able to make it.. right?' Then I saw other people dressing up as the characters. I fell instantly in the pool of quicksand called "COS PLAYING".
What was your first costume and why?
Rinoa, I had a dog, and I loved Rinoa plus its an easy cosplay. I still love Rinoa's character with all my heart and I wish to dress as her in every way possible! But my first con debut was as a Final Fantasy tactics Dancer.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Personally I love all my costumes. They're created by my sweat and money... but you know I have to say my most favorite out of them all would have to be my Rinoa Amano version.. I worked soo hard on that beast of beaded fabric.. and I love it.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I have tons and tons and tons of costumes that I'd love to make. I think my top ones are Princess Charolette from Berserk, Ivy Valentine from Soul Calibur.. do not ask me why.. I just want to make it and then of course Ashe's funeral dress. Uh one thing about that.. it goes against my morals.. hence why its a dream costume.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
my first con, SUGOI 05. I can't always attend the cons I want, but my friends made sure that this would be my first convention.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes, sometimes I do. I haven't won every time but you know what? It just keeps me motivated and its fun do it!
What was your best masquerade experience?
At Daigacon 07! I was there with my friend Bai Ai Li ((Ashely if you want her real name)) and Yunmao Ayakawa was also judging. I won third place and Bai Ai Li got first. I was happy for the both of us.. mainly for her though. But it was great meeting Ms. Ayakawa and winning the same day. It was my first win.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Daigacon 2007 3rd place in craftsmenship, Anime Punch 2007 Most Fan Servicey, Omg!Con 2007 Judges Favorite, Ohayocon 2008 Found Item Adult Anime Punch 2008 Best Material for Swimsuit cosplay A friend wore my swimsuit for the Anime Punch 2007 swimsuit contest, and so... she won Most Accurate.. I don't know if that counts.. but I'm placing it here.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm in college right now. I really don't know what I am doing to do with it... but its interesting to take classes. I'm a third year Junior. I have a dog who is the world to me. I do martial arts.. so the characters I cos play, I can kick butt in the outfit. I play multiple video games and I run my own website that I'm about to release.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Don't give up your dreams for something thats realistic. Heres a really big moral.. DON'T COSPLAY THE CHARACTER YOU DON'T LIKE. Honestly... its just a gross feeling if you ask me. GET INTO CHARACTER!! Honestly whats the point of not being in character? Its so much fun!
