What got you into cosplay?
I started with Lord of the Rings and rennaisance costuming, but I prefer the kind of costumes you see in anime. I unwittingly watched anime, and being something of an attention whore probably had something to do with it.
What was your first costume and why?
Well, I destroyed it, so nevermind.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Kadaj. I don't know why; it's hot and I have to bind my chest, I can barely walk and people chase me and steal my box, but it remains my favorite. I think maybe because for all his attempts to be a bad guy he's really just a momma's boy, which is funny and a bit sweet.
Oh, and I have a white hair fetish.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I really, really want to do the opera style costume that Gong-Gil wears in 'The King and the Clown'. Actually, I just really want to cosplay Gong-Gil altogether, but especially that one. I also want to make it out of lining fabric and hanja paper like they did, but I doubt I'll ever be that good. However, Shim Hyeon-Seop is pretty much my idol. I haven't seen costumes that gave me a real 'finger-in-socket' style shock since a long time ago.
But on a long-term 2010-ish note, Master Chief from Halo.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
This will sound lame, but at ALA 07 Pikmin Link saw my Loli! Link costume and seemed to like it pretty well, and wanted to take a picture 'dipping' me. Since to me, she is the ultimate authority of Link and all related things, I feel that that was a big thing. I love getting any sort of acknowledgement from real authorities more than anything.
Please disregard how stupid I sound.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes, as often as I can.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Going first. People have their wits and attention about them in the beginning, so you KNOW they're all looking.
(Wow, that sounded stuck-up.)
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yes. XP
Tell us a little about yourself
I live in Southern California. I like breakfast bars and muffins and I can't stand muffin bars. I also love lavash. <3
I like writting, (as I'm sure many people here do) dancing, and horses.
I hate cats.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I love the smell of old books.
My favorite anime
Bleach, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai X, Fullmetal Alchemist, Hellsing, Trigun, .hack//SIGN, Wolf's Rain...
My favorite game(s)
I'm videogame impared. >.<
Quest for N64, ('screw x-box, I play old school nintendo....I must be emo.) Final Fantasy (most of them...but not Crystal Chronicles..), DDR...and maybe Halo 2.
My favorite book(s)
Shirahime Syo. (I love sad books.) The Silmarillion, The Lord of the Rings trillogy, The Hobbit (JRR Tolkien), Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier...The Innocents Abroad by Mark Twain was sort of funny, in a weird, rude, and whiny sort of way.
My favorite movies(s)
The King and the Clown, Hotaru no Haka, Advent Children, The Lord of the Rings Trillogy, National Treasure, Finding Neverland...I'm an extremely tough movie critic and I criticize mercilessly.
(You can't watch a movie with me without hearing rude, crass, insensitive comments at the most inopportune times.)
My favorite actors/actresses
I Asian Drama and very little else, so...
Tomohisa Yamashita because he can conform to most roles almost seamlessly, Abe Hiroshi because he can be either comedic or serious but always good at it, Toda Erica for always speaking convincingly and clearly, Nakama Yukie for too many reasons to list, and maybe Matsumoto Jun because he's very versatile. Rainie Yang just....because.....?
Oh. Lee Junki because HE HAS NO GENDER. XD Walks like a lady, I swear.
