What got you into cosplay?
It was the Final Fantasy games that introduced me to this, really. I remember being online one day and was googling something on Final Fantasy X, and came across a photo of a lady dressed as Lulu - Of course, it caught my attention and I discovered what was known as 'cosplay', after googling that of course, I ended up on this VERY site. Thank you Google! -bows down to its awesomeness-
What was your first costume and why?
My first 'costume' was Turk Vincent Valentine from FFVII but it wasnt much more than a suit and tie, so my first official costume was -really- Alucard from Hellsing.
I am damn proud of this because I made it as accurate as I could and it was my first attempt at sewing on my own - and especially something so complicated as a tailored jacket and coat, and won an award the first time I used it.
What is your favorite costume and why?
My favourite that I have made, or a favourite design overall? My favourite is probably my Mad Hatter, which isnt actually on this site yet. Cost about £200 for the jacket alone, and comes with a 150 year old top hat.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Lord Edmund Blackadder, and Queen Elizabeth from the BBC Comedy Blackadder series.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
When i met my best friends on Cosplay.com!
Yes, Jenni, Olivia and Amy and a LOT of other people who are very special to me.
They actually encouraged me to continue cosplay because i didnt really have anyone who was into it before. ^_^
Also, meeting my other half, EksDee-Alucard through cosplay, initially meeting on this very site! :D
Do you participate in masquerades?
Sometimes, I will only enter if I have a costume that I am very keen to display or if my group has a skit.
What was your best masquerade experience?
As it was the ONLY time I entered the masquerade, it has to be my group doing our walk-on as Alucard, Blood Seras and Integra Hellsing at Midlands Expo February 2007!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
On my groups first ever cosplay together from Hellsing, we won 2nd place in a masquerade at Midlands Expo 2007! We all got a Hot Fuzz T-shirt and an entire series of animé/manga each! Also featured in NEO mag issue 031, we were awarded a box set of Hellsing and one dvd of another anime from the company ADV Films. :D
Also, its not classed as an 'award' but, I used my Elizabeth Swann Pirate Disguise costume to accompany my other half as Captain Jack Sparrow at a Morrisons branch to promote the DvD release of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End for two days.
Other costume work has also got me work experience with the BBC, with the Art Director for a TV show called "Hustle", and my work will be featured on a set for the show, which I will be designing and decorating this year (2010).
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm 19, just finished a course in Fashion and Design, will be working with the BBC's Art Department in a few weeks, and i am also applying for the RAF as a Weapons Technician.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
