What got you into cosplay?
Rocky Horror Picture Show (see explanation a little further down). But I got into anime cosplay because, uhmmmm... *looks to the side, points* It's all Whitney's fault! She made me do it! (:P)
What was your first costume and why?
RHPS: Riff Raff, because the void in this cast I was in needed filled. Anime: Tidus (FFX)...for the photo ops. Okay,...*hushed tones* you didn't hear this, but I was staying with Yuna so I could get closer to Rikku. (:P)
What is your favorite costume and why?
Out of what I have now? RHPS: Riff Raff's space suit! I mean, look at it. It's great, yes? Anime: Roy Mustang. I like the way the "formal" or "military dress" uniforms look with all their adornments. Plus one can't help but walk with an air of authority in uniform. ;)
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
RHPS: ...nope. Anime: Right now, I am working up this alternate concept for Roy Mustang: teh Flaming Alchemist (hence, my username). Yes, fabulous and flamboyant are definitely two words I'd use to describe my vision for this one. Easily recognizeable as Roy Mustang, yet stylish, flashy, and oh-so "metro." Wait until you see this!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
RHPS: performing in front of over 700 people who probably hadn't seen a live production of this show in at least six months prior. Imagine you only get one con a year. How excited would you be to attend? Yeah...they were like that. Anime: Performing in front of literally THOUSANDS of rabid anime fans at this year's Otakon! This was my first con performance. It was electric being on that stage and hearing all those people reacting to everything we were doing up there. It only makes me want more, and to write better sketches. There is NO feeling like this in existence...
Do you participate in masquerades?
Every other week. I consider Rocky Horror to be Cosplay because...well, look at the similarities to what we do for anime cons. I just get to do it more often with my RHPS cast. I perform in front of hundreds of people each month, so it felt fairly natural stepping onto the Otakon stage. I was still VERY nervous! To that end, I believe that if you don't get a little nervous before performing, it's time to quit because your enthusiasm is gone. I'm an entertainer to the core. I love it!
What was your best masquerade experience?
I'd say any time I get to play Riff Raff for RHPS. Usually, I am stuck as "Chuckie" (the grey-haired narrator), Dr. Scott (the wheelchair-bound scietist), or a chorus line member (known as the "Tranzie Line"). When I play Riff, however, the attitude comes out and I am bulletproof, man!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Being so new to the anime con experience (only been to three in my first year so far), I haven't really competed for prizes. I don't think I'm up to that level...yet.

Just one thing - to my arsenal of superpowers. Voluntary narcolepsy to offset the frequent bouts of insomnia.
My favorite anime
The first anime I ever saw more than two episodes of in one sitting (and liked) was Golden Boy. My favorite, however, will always be Fullmetal Alchemist. The story is deep and engaging and you really care about the characters (if you're not affected by episode 7, you have no heart). This series was the gateway drug into my diving into Inuyasha, s-CRY-ed, Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and (most recently) Paranoia Agent. I know what you're thinking, but some of us can't afford to buy entire series of anything. I'd like to check into Armitage, NG Evangelion, Full Metal Panic, Battle Royale, Cromartie High School, and Fruits Basket. Yeah, yeah,...I'm way behind. (:P)
