What got you into cosplay?
A friend invited me to Anizona 2005. We figured, as long as we were going, may as well go in costume.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was a no-sew chocobo. We were going to Anizona 2005 and I had no idea how to sew but wanted to go in costume. My chocobo was made of chicken wire, velcro, and furry fabric. The best part was the music rigged into the butt of the costume.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Gaara. I put a ton of work into my Gaara costume, and I think it came off wonderfully, especially the to-scale gourd. I also put a lot of work into Narcissa, but I don't think it came out quite as well as Gaara.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Trying to maneuver with the gourd. One poor soul trying to dive out of my way accidentally got stuck between me and a door.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I participated in the one at Anizona 2005, not 2006. It wasn't quite worth the time standing around to be in it.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Not yet.
Tell us a little about yourself
I currently attend ASU as a communication major. I work for Harmony Baptist Church as the IT/Receptionist/Support Staff.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I had absolutely no idea how much time costuming would consume when I started.
