What got you into cosplay?
I've been interested in anime for years, and my friends and I went to our first convention in 2002. I wanted to try cosplay out, and I've been doing it since. Cosplay has sparked an interest in sewing for me.
What was your first costume and why?
Miaka Yuki from Fushigi Yugi. Fushigi Yugi is my favorite manga. I love Miaka, especially her school uniform. It's so cute!
What is your favorite costume and why?
Summoner Yuna, because I put a lot of hard work and detail into that costume. From the hand painted the obi to the flowers on the skirt, a lot of time and effort went into that costume, and it is very special to me.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Yuna's wedding dress.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Meeting new people and sharing your experiences. I love when people run up to me and ask me for a picture or a hug. ^_^ It's just fun to be someone else for a change.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes. My first one was at Nekocon X. I only walked across the stage to be judged for craftsmanship, but for a shy person that's a huge step! Hopefully I'll be able to do some skits in the future. ^^
What was your best masquerade experience?
All the applause I got for "Princess Zelda". Oh and my friend screaming "I love you!"
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
One award for my Summoner Yuna given at a Halloween lock-in at the local game lounge.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a junior in college, and I'm majoring in art (3D animation). I want to do character modeling for video games. I love to draw, play games, listen to music, and watch anime. My favorite thing to do, though, is attend cons.
