What got you into cosplay?
Weeell, in 2005, my friend Grace thought it might be cool to cosplay...and she considered Nausicaa (from the Miyazaki movie), as she resembles Nausicaa...and I told her she looked just like Yuna. And I looked just like Rikku. So...we...decided to cosplay them.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was TECHNICALLY Misty from Pokémon, as I was obsessed with that show when I was...in...fourth grade or something (I still love Pokémon, but only up to Pokémon Crystal). I made a really...thrown-together Halloween costume of Misty (and I still have the red suspenders, actually). HOWEVER, my first REAL costume (as in, made with cosplay in mind and with more effort than just a Halloween costume) was Rikku from FFX because, when I made it...I...was obsessed with FFX? XD
What is your favorite costume and why?
My favorite finished costume is Yuffie from Advent Children. It's comfy, it's adorable, and I don't feel completely ridiculous wearing it (okay, I do, but I don't feel...ridiculously SELF-CONSCIOUS). <3 However, I think Orgulla might tie with Yuffie once I finish it...I'm so proud of it so far...
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Well, it WAS something from Xenosaga--the detail in those outfits are MIND BOGGLING and I adore them--but I'm making Orgulla right now. So. I'm making that dream costume now. lol
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
PROBABLY my first con where I cosplayed. I was Rikku in a group with a Yuna and a Lulu and EVERYONE took our picture. It was FANTASTIC. <3
Do you participate in masquerades?
Actually, just one. I did a walk-on at Otaku Omaha '08, which was...strange? I don't know. It was a walk-on. XD
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Well, technically, I have won two! I won the costume contest at the midnight 7th Harry Potter book party at Barnes and Noble (as Luna Lovegood), and I got first in the Novice division at Otaku Omaha '08 (with Princess Zelda). ^^
