What got you into cosplay?
I've always wanted to do cosplay ever since i went to my first anime convention in 2002, but i could never decide who i would cosplay as. I always thought it would bt the coolest thing to walk around a con dressed as your favorite character.
What was your first costume and why?
My first cosplay was Hatake Kakashi from Naruto at FanimeCon 05. My friend had given me the first 100 episodes of Naruto to watch, and i instantly became a fan of the series. Kakashi stood out to me mainly due to his laid back personality,which i liked, and he was also a pretty cool looking character. i didnt really make any of it, just pieced it together with stuff i had lying around XD
What is your favorite costume and why?
so far, my favorite cosplay has been either of my Abarai Renji cosplays. Shikai Zabimaru is so much fun to carry around (people always seem to be kinda surprised its made of wood lol), and BANKAI! Hihio Zabimaru is fun to pose with (that and you don't see the bankai version often). Ulquiorra is a close second though now, as i loving creeping people out with my contacts XD
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
i have this idea for armor inspired by St. Dragon of Osiris (Yugioh) that i'd love to do once i get a little more experienced. -Alice's Neo Lotus Master outfit from Alice 19th. -Noitora (Espada 5 from Bleach) and his giant double-scythe of DOOM <3
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
The Bleach gathering at Fanime 2007, specifically when we moved to the park for photos. not only was it my first time leading a gathering, i got a lot of good feedback on how organized it was and how smoothly it ran. from my experience Bleach cosplayers just tend to be a really awesome group of people to hang out with :)
Do you participate in masquerades?
no, but I'd love to eventually! i have loads of ideas for skits i'd love to do, and being in the masquerade with friends sounds like a lot of fun :D
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
as far as masquerades go,not yet /: but i will someday! *is determined >D* BANKAI!Renji Abarai & Hihio Zabimaru - 4th place at SF Cherry Blossom Festival Cosplay Contest 2008
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a college student by day (studying ZOOLOGY 8D), crime-fighting ninja by night :D. i like anime/manga, video games, music (loves the orchestrated stuff! John Williams owns yoo >:) ), drawing, surfing, playing lacrosse, going to concerts, sushi, movies, hanging out with friends, cosplaying, playing piano and trumpet, and lots of good times.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
in the case of the Ninja VS Pirate debate, i like both - ninjas and pirates are both awesome so you cannot make me choose between the two - i am a ninja pirate, so dont hate on me because i handle being both and you can't :P
