What got you into cosplay?
Anime in general, and my Mom is an expert Cosplayer. She used to do a lot of Sci-Fi and World Cons and entered competitions. Her level at Creation Shows is Craftsman which is only one win away from Master. I'm a Journeyman (couple wins above Novice)
What was your first costume and why?
Sana Kurata from Kodomo No Omocha, when I was 11. That was my first real cosplay because my Mom used to buy all these fansubbed tapes of anime for me to watch and I got really into Kodocha at the time. She also made me a Pikachu costume and a Mewtwo costume I wore at times when I was younger.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I'd have to say my favourite costume is my Movie Edward Elric (FMA) costume. It's one of my best and one that recieved the most feedback and I'm very attached to it. Also it was one of my first Crossplays.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
The Alter!Form of Ryuho from S-crY-ed . Als I've been dying to do a Final Fantasy cosplay ^^
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Kamikazecon for my TV!Ed Elric and AnimeNext for my Movie!Version. Both those cons I made a lot of new friends at.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I don't do too many at anime cons but I almost always enter at Shore Leave, World Cons, and Creation Shows.
What was your best masquerade experience?
When I was 7 my Mom and I went to World Con in Baltimore. For the Masquerade we did costumes based on the costumes worn in the Lion King Broadway show. It was all hand beaded and everything and took several months to make. Mom won a bunch of prizes for her workmanship.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
A lot of Workmanships and several 2nd, and 3rd places at Shore Leave.
Tell us a little about yourself
Currently I'm a Sophmore at Texas Tech (sound brainy? dont count on it. I kinda cheate dmy way in...) My parents are divorced (my Dad lives in New York City andI live with my Mom) In the house with my Mom, me and her boyfriend, are two young women who are also cosplayers named Risa and Nicki. I have 4 cats, 1 bird, some fish, and 5 gerbils. For fun I like to draw, do Digital Graphic design, write, cosplay, and make movies. I'm also an experienced actress hoping to be able to land a role in an anime one day.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
My current goal is to do some work to influence the American anime Industry in any way. Whether it be voice acting, or using my Digital Graphics for promotional advertisements.
