What got you into cosplay?
I had considered making costumes via alteration for several years before I actually got down to cosplaying, but I'd have to say what, or rather who got me into cosplay was my good friend Melissa whom I met online several years ago. She came out to AnimeIowa in 2004 with her costumes, and it was a lot of fun just being with her who was in costume as none of my other friends cosplayed then. The next year I finally gave it a try and have loved it ever since :D
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was Athrun's "Alex Dino" ensemble from Gundam SEED Destiny. I just thought the jacket was too cool, so I wanted to make it. There were a few kinks along the way, but for a first attempt at anything like cosplay, I'm fairly proud of how it came out. It's obvious that I still had a lot to learn, and I bought the rest of the outfit as it was fairly standard, but I still had fun. Even if there aren't hardly any hardcore Gundam SEED fans in Iowa and therefore not many people even recognized who I was trying to be :P
What is your favorite costume and why?
Axel. Hands down. I've remade the costume and the wig and I've worn the costume twice to every convention I've had it at. I just love wearing it and being a photowhore with my friends XD
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Oh, several XD A couple come to mind, but I'll keep those a secret for now ~_^
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Epic Beatmania Photoshoot at Ohayocon 08 :D
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not yet, but I hope to someday! Unfortunately I can't debut at AnimeIowa, where I would be most comfortable, because I work on staff there!

Tell us a little about yourself
I'm currently a student at the University of Iowa, majoring in International Studies and Japanese. No, I don't know what I'm going to do with it. Quite possibly I'll be going to grad school eventually.

Athrun (der), Cagalli, Yzak, Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, Iruka, Gaara, Tsunade, (most everyone from Naruto because most of them are TOO DAMN LOVABLE), Ed, Al, Roy, Tsuzuki, Hisoka, Ichigo (Bleach), Ishida (Bleach), Kamui, Fuuma, Subaru, Seishirou...Syaoran, Sakura...I'm sure I'm missing someone important.
