What got you into cosplay?
I go to a local Anime club. At the end of each year we have a marathon and cosplay as our last screening for the year. One year a friend said I should go in costume and helped me organise am costume.. and so it began.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was the negotiator (Roger Smith) from the anime series Big O. That was back in December 2002.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I would say my Doctor Who costumes. I Love the series and the Doctor is so cool. Plus I have a sonic screwdriver and a home made K9 aswell.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Now the Cyberman is finished. The next major project is a borg from star trek
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I would say Wai-Con 2005. That is where I first did the Cid costume. I got to the convention a bit earlier then planned because I was not 100% sure where to go. I got to the main enterance and people were asking for photos of me before I even got in the front door.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes SwanCon has a masquerade every year. So far I have attended two balls at Swancon.
What was your best masquerade experience?
My best experience was looking at all the beautiful costumes people had at the ball. Some people really go all out for the Masquerade ball.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
The Kero-Chan costume was awarded 2nd place at the JAFWA 15TH anniversary birthday party in 2005 Cid Highwind was awarded 2nd place for best male costume for Wai-Con 2006 day 2
Tell us a little about yourself
I work as a security officer at a newspaper facility. I also clean printing presses and sometimes do the building cleaning too. My family is somewhat small with just Myself my Mum and Dad. We also have 2 dogs (one of which has passed away. I also have rescued a horse now. His name is Torchwood. My hobbies include Cosplay^^, Formula One, Astronomy, Poetry writing.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Im one of the founding member of one of the fastest growing cosplay groups in perth called Valdemar Estate Cosplay Club. We have shoots every month. I have met many cool new friends through it. Cosplay is fun ^^
