What got you into cosplay?
A friend of mine introduced it to me. I owe her so much.
What was your first costume and why?
Kaoru Kamiya from Rurouni Kenshin. She was Kenshin's love interest, and seeing how i love Kenshin, well....you get the idea.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Right now, i'm really looking forward to making a kick ass costume that has to remain a secret. it's the biggest costume idea i've had in awhile
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Yes, a Bloodied Prom Carrie White from the 2002 version of "Carrie," which is in progress, Alera from Van Helsing, and a horse cosplay for Artax from the Neverending Story (also in progress)
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Well, when I was at Anime Boston 2005 at the Opening Ceremonies, Scott McNeil came out on stage and he said "Hi Meghan! Hi Celia! Where are you guys?" and me and Ceal both jumped up saying "Oh! Over here! Over here!" Then at the end of it, we got bombarded by fangirls asking how we know him.
And then again at Anime Boston 05', i was in the duck duck goose game and i saw a very good Battousai and Tomoe. I walked up to them and got a photo with him and his cousin dressed as Tomoe. Then i asked the Battousai for a hug, so he hugged me. I wouldn't let go, i was so happy. So he lifted me up. I squealed. The game got put on hold while everyone looked at me. Then i loosened up on his neck. Then my body reacted and i kissed him on the lips. He was a little shocked at my reaction but he leaned into it!!! It was my first kiss. I said thanks and i didn't get his name. I was in heaven after that. (AT AB06 i found him! Nick Rago!!)
at I-con 25 in NY, my sister, our girlfriend, and i were waiting to check into our hotel room. i hear a voice ask "Meghan?" i thought i was daydreaming, then i looked up and i saw Vic Mignogna up on the balcony looking down at me. i asked "Vic?" and he goes "YEAH!" then i started hyperventalating and crying. he ran down the elevator right over to us and glomped us. after i calmed down, i gave him a hug and a kiss then gave him a charm necklace.
again at I-con 25, me and my sister were at Brad Swaile's panel. we sat in the back and we noticed Iillch Guardolia sitting behind us. he looked sad and alone, so we asked him to join us. we talked for like 20min. he had our hands in his. we got his autographs, pictures, hugs, and just a nice friendly chat. this hit me right in the heart with love.
Do you participate in masquerades?
yes I do...it's alot of fun...it feels like i'm a real actress!
What was your best masquerade experience?
the demon dance off from Anime Boston 2008. i was human Inuyasha
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yes, I have won honorable mention for the Hitokiri Battousai Costume when I first wore it at Tokyo Kid in April of 2005.
At Anime Boston 2006 i got 2 Staff Pick tickets for great cosplay for my Edward Elric cosplay
Tokyo Kid 2006 Cosplay Costume Contest, i won an honorable mention for my Blindfolded Riku (the crappy version)
Tokyo Kid 2008 Cosplay Contest i won a master's honorable mention for my KH2 Island Wear Riku
Arisia 2009: first place for going in a prom dress to the cosplay ball. my sister had a matching one that was white
Tell us a little about yourself
23 year old female, NOT a party girl but of a more relaxed girl. no college, high school graduate, Rurouni Kenshin is my all time fav. anime, I'm an intermidiate equestrian rider, I love cosplaying, and glomping any Kenshin, Battousai, Sephiroth, KH characters I can find; despite gender.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I have an identical twin sister named Celia (Ceal she perfers), a dog named Elric, and a bunny named Ginny. i cosplayed on halloween when we go out trick or treating on horseback (2004-2006)
