What got you into cosplay?
Heki-chan! I did my first ever cosplay photo shoot with her in the fall (2005) and it was pretty awesome. After that, I started specializing my photography skills towards portraiture and ended up with a range of new equpment just so I could get more deeply into cosplay photography.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
My introduction to the anime convention scene was MTAC2006, where I took a ton of cosplay shots in some pretty difficult lighting and scenes. I was pretty worried about how my shots would turn out and was thinking that most of them wouldn't be too awesome. After the con when I started processing them, all my doubts went away. They turned out wicked!
Tell us a little about yourself
I began taking pictures with a cheap point and shoot film camera that my sister handed down to me in 2001.
Completely inspired and set upon taking breathtaking photographs, I purchased my own digital camera in 2002.
I'm also studying Electrical Engineering and Management at McMaster University right now, but in my spare time I partake in photojournalism and creative photography, as well as paid photo shoots for cosplayers, formal events, and models.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
My top loved things to do, aside from photography, include rock climbing, snowboarding, backpacking and hiking, whitewater canoeing, biking, and working on my (modded) computer.
