What got you into cosplay?
I've always loved fashion and costumes, why not make costumes of my favourite characters?
What was your first costume and why?
Ash from Poke'mon. I LOVE Ash, he's such a funny and cute character. Plus, I was 7, I was completely in love with him at the time. ...And still am...
What is your favorite costume and why?
My favourite costume is a tie between Uke Inuyasha and Edward Elric. Uke Inuyasha because, most people have to do a double-take when they see me in it, it's not everyday you see Inuyasha walking around without his pants and with heels on. I love my Edward Elric costume because I am SMITTEN with Fullmetal Alchemist. Edward is just ... amazing. Period.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Yes, I do. I would KILL to cosplay as Hiei from YuYu Hakusho.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Hmm, that's hard ... oh, I know! I was walking around in my Edward Elric costume at AB2006, and it was really late at night. I was just wandering around, and I hear this voice say, "Ed! That's an awesome costume. Did you make it?" I didn't really look up since I was flipping through my pamphlet, but I answer back, "Yeah, it was pretty easy. Thanks." and start to walk again. Then I freeze in my tracks and look up, since I recognized the voice. It was Vic! I glomped him a million times in a row. It was amazing.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes.
What was your best masquerade experience?
When my friend Ryo and I were planning and fixing our skit backstage. He was Miroku, and I was Inuyasha. We did this really hard sort of flamboyant tap dance, and we kept stumbling over eachother because we were laughing so much at how bad we were! Luckily we won 'Best In Show' that time.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yes.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm currently going to W.S. Parker Middle School. I live with my sister and my dad and my dog Kim, my mom lives a couple miles away. I love to sew and cosplay, and I LOVE art. Love, love, love love love it. Painting, drawing, fashion, scultping, etc. All of it amazes me. I'm really into theatre and acting, as well.
