What got you into cosplay?
A friend suggested I should go with her to a cosplay event. I've been hooked since!
What was your first costume and why?
Xelloss from Slayers. I looked enough like him at the time for my friends to suggest it.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Giorno Giovanna. It's JoJo and it's hot pink. NEED I SAY MORE.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Several outfits of Farnese's from Berserk, the Maschinenmensch, and Lina Inverse. Armor is my cosplay Achilles heel!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Meeting Neil Gaiman (creator of the Sandman comics) and having him say I was one of the finest Deaths he'd ever seen.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes I do! I love performing.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Winning best presentation for my Judeau costume. That performance meant so much to me on so many levels that being rewarded for it nearly made me cry.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yes, I have. I won best advanced craftsmanship individual at Fanime 07, and a bunch of performance-based awards by myself and with my friends.
Tell us a little about yourself
I live with my mother and three cats. We have a lot of books and a lot of tea. I'm a huge fan of BPAL perfume and tacky music.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Every time you say WRYYYYYYYYY when you really mean WHYYYYYYYYY, a Hanyaan dies inside. If you need help understanding the difference, ask me!
My favorite anime
My tastes change throughout the years. Currently my absolute top favorites are JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Studio Ghibli, Berserk, Kaiji, Akagi, Dorohedoro, and Vinland Saga.
My favorite book(s)
Howl's Moving Castle, now and forever. I heartily endorse almost anything by Diana Wynne Jones, Neil Gaiman, or Terry Pratchett, and Garth Nix's Abhorsen trilogy is absolutely WONDERFUL.
