What got you into cosplay?
Oddly, it was a very tongue-in-cheek article published in Spin Magazine, around 2001 (if I'm not mistaken). It covered that year's Big Apple Anime Fest, and despite the somewhat derogatory tone, I was taken by the concept. It would be another nine years before I'd finally walk through a convention hallway in costume.
What was your first costume and why?
Unofficially, I've been making homemade Halloween costume since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. I even made my own Banjo (of Banjo-Kazooie fame) suit in the fourth grade!
My first convention cosplay was Ico, which I wore to NYCC '10.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I have so many! Hugo (Suikoden III), Freya (Final Fantasy IX), and Chiaki (Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne) to name just a few.
Do you participate in masquerades?
No, I've just never been very competitive and even if I was, I don't feel my skill level is there yet. Perhaps someday.
