What got you into cosplay?
My love of Sailor Moon is the original spark that got me interested. As far back as the age of 9, I wanted to dress up as Sailor Moon. When I was 12, I finally was able to!
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was Sailor Moon. I made it out of an old tank top, and only being 12, my parents bought me felt for the rest since it was cheap. It was made for my birthday party while I was home from school with the flu.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I really can't choose! Each one has an element that I love!
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
One day I would absolutely LOVE to make so many costumes! Instead of a dream costume, I guess I'd just like to be able to create them all! haha!
Do you participate in masquerades?
I was in a skit at Katsucon 12 with my manga styled Super Sailor Moon and a walkon with my Rose Bride at ACEN 2007.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Both were lots of fun!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yes! My manga styled Classic Sailor Moon won a judges choice award at Ohayocon 2007.
Tell us a little about yourself
To start off, my real name is Stephanie, and I have a wonderful boyfriend named Peter, and I'm very lucky to have him. He and I are also fortunate enough that we can both see each other nearly everyday. I still live at home with my parents, and they're wonderfully supportive of my cosplay hobby, and they'll occasionally buy me fabrics for costumes and give me odd jobs to do to try and raise extra money for conventions. I have four cats. Sylvester and Maxine are our oldest, both ten years old and brother and sister from the same litter. Then we have Thor but he unfortunately has felion luekemia, and our little kitten Gabriel (who thankfully didn't catch the luekemia) who my one of my mom's students gave after we lost another kitty, Luna, to the disease. I love to sew, cook, work on webpages and play around in photoshop. I play lots of video games from many different genres, and I like to watch sci-fi and "Law & Order" type shows (all the Law & Orders, CSI's, etc.)
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I used to use the name"pssailormoon" here on Cosplay.com, but I grew out of wanting to be known as "Sailor Moon." "Lady Utena" obviously fits the next character I picked up cosplaying, but it also just sounds a lot more elegant and sophisticated.
