What got you into cosplay?
I've always loved doing theatre and performing, and there are many characters who I'd like to be (at least for a while). The chance to get to become someone else for a while is so much fun!
What was your first costume and why?
Jessie from Team Rocket - I loved the character and I made the uniform for Halloween. When my boyfriend (now husband) suggested we attend the Pittsburgh Comicon the next spring, he mentioned a costume contest. We went as Jessie and James, and actually won 2nd place!
What is your favorite costume and why?
Princess Peach - she was always one of my all-time favorite characters, plus the dress is so pretty. It's also my first fully-sewn costume, and I think it turned out really well. ...and is it wrong that I love having people refer to me as "Princess"? ^_^
Although I am really enjoying the opportunity to play more character roles - especially having fun with Franziska von Karma, and N. Italy from Hetalia. One of my favorite convention experiences was getting to play Italy (along with Tamlin as S. Italy) during Cosplay Chess at Yulecon. I was over the top as a cowardly idiot and the audience seemed quite entertained! I love being able to make people laugh. ^^
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
One of Arwen's dresses from LOTR, Goddess Palutena from Kid Icarus/ SSBB, Twilight Princess Zelda (started!)
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Doing a photoshoot at a local park, it was a week before Easter and a bunch of little kids were hunting for eggs. I was dressed as Princess Peach. A flock of little girls ran up to me, probably thinking I was part of the event, and their mothers had to get photos of me with their kids. It was so cute!
It was also "memorable" when a stoner came up to Princess Peach and Luigi on the San Diego trolley (during Comic-con) and offered us some weed.

Tell us a little about yourself
Married to a sweet computer geek (known as Concolor on this site) since 2002. I work as a professional graphic artist/web designer. I love video games and running my website. In the "real world" I'm known as Mandy Nader, but I'm TR Rose on the internet (sometimes known as MandyNeko or a few other handles). I'm always willing to answer questions about my costumes, and my site contains a lot of cosplay tutorials and helpful information.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series, pretty much anything Mario or Zelda (Mario RPG is my all-time favorite), Katamari Damacy & We Love Katamari, any good point&click adventure. I've loved gaming since the NES days and I still have most of my old games and systems.
