What got you into cosplay?
I loved final fantasy and I kept on seeing pictures of people dressing up as my favorite characters, but i didn't know where they were doing it. After doing some research, i found out that Acen was really REALLY close to me and what fun is going to a con and not dressing up =P.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was rikku from final fantasy X and I chose her because her costume was simple, she's freaking adorable, and I didn't need a wig.
What is your favorite costume and why?
So far Chaos. It turned out so nice and it was my hardest to date.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I have been dreaming to make the true form of Ultimecia (boss of Final Fantasy VIII) for the past four years. No, not the Ultimecia with the red coat and antlers, the one with the light in the face and the two bodies. I also would love to do trance kuja, safer sephiroth, and a boat load of others.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
My most memorable was when my sister and I were anima and valefor and this little girl (maybe 7?) comes running up to us and started hugging us hysterically. She wanted to pose with us like we were characters in disney world. Her parents were shocked and me and Emily just burst out laughing. I was surprised, because I thought she would think Emily was a bit too scary, but hey, maybe she played X.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes. Ive been in four masquerades so far. Won in two ^_^. I love it and now its a tradition for me to participate in them.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Best masq moment had to be when I walked onstage as Kami and was so shocked and afraid that i won that i totally forgot to grab the award from the judge and walked offstage. They had to call me back and i was SOO embarrassed. I wasnt thinking and whacked one of the judges in the face as I walked back off. Thank God I had white face makeup on. Wouldve been a tomato XD.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yes, I won an award for my Belial costume at a cosplay gathering at a Suncoast. I received 3rd place people's choice. For my Talim costume we won two awards for our soul calibur group. We won best in show and judges choice. For my Kami costume I won Runner up Novice.
Tell us a little about yourself
I attend a high school in a suburb in Chicago and I love it so much. I am in the anime club with a bunch of amazing girls (its an all girls school). I do archery in my backyard, draw and write for our manga, go on adventures with my friend Mary, and play video games. I love music and my favorite bands are Led Zeppelin, pink Floyd, System of a Down, and Metallica to name a few. My favorite color is silver, my hair is blonde, I have green eyes, and I'm 5'8''. I think thats all I can tell you for now. I have a job sewing bags for the game bag-o bag toss or bags.
