About Me / Q&A

What got you into cosplay?
From the anime club at my college. I joined and the group planned on going to Katsucon so I thought I should dress up!
What was your first costume and why?
Tohma Seguchi because Gravitation was my most recent anime and favorite at the time. I am a big hat fan and there was Tohma with his. Plus, I loved his dubious good intentions, kinda good kinda bad nature.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Sherlock Holmes from BBC Sherlock. He has basically become part of who I am now and the cosplay I am best known for. I never go to a con without some form of Sherlock.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
My most memorable experience was actually out of cosplay, not even at a con. It was a week or two after Otakon. I was at the National Theater in Washington D.C. to see a film version of the Long National Theater's run of "Frankenstein" with Benedict Cumbernatch and Jonny Lee Miller. Waiting in line for the bathroom, some girl points and me and gasps 'You were that Sherlock at Otakon!' It was amazing, felt famous!
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not often. They just take up so much time at a con that I tend to shy away from them. I did participate in a Pandora Hearts skit at a Katsucon once. It was good and interesting experience with the choreographing, being on stage again, part of a team. So I did enjoy seeing what that side of cons is like!
My favorite anime
Cowboy Bebop, Gravitation, Hikaru no Go, Trigun, Wolf's Rain, Ouran High School Host Club, Princess Princess, Fruits Basket, Kino no tabi, Elfen Lied, Fullmetal Alchemist, Hellsing, Hunter X Hunter, Strawberry Panic, Durarara, Baccano, Attack on Titan, Free!
