What got you into cosplay?
Well, it all started when my dearest wifey-poo (and bestfriend) showed up at my door late August '05 dressed as Himura Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin. I went absolutely nutts. She told me about cosplay and I learned that I was not the only one who did not outgrow playing dress-up. XP (P.S. I'm sot really married)
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was Kamiya Kaoru, simply because I was really shy and nervous. I wanted to cosplay with someone familiar and since Emiri-chan was cosplaying Kenshin it was my natural choice. It was a huge plus that I already liked Kaoru.
What is your favorite costume and why?
My Funeral Ashe. I really liked Ashe's character (woot! Bitch of the century!!) in the game but I am no fan of her pink mini-skirt or her pointless waist cincher. (Boots in sandals? WTF?!?!!?!) So when I saw the artwork for her funeral gown I had to have it. The design is so elegant and the sad beauty of the dress really caught my eye. The difficulty level of this costume pummels anything else I've complained about in the past into the dust. This was HARD. And even though I've started work on one of my dream costumes, Wedding Ashe, this one is my current favorite.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
There's lots I want to cosplay but to answer your question, Seth Nightlord from Trinity Blood. I ADORE the novels and am even learning how to read kanji just so I can read them (since it's being translated so slowly). Seth is, hands down, my favorite anime character.(of course this is debatable considering how much I love Agito) She looks all cute an innocent, then she goes all crusnik on yo ass. I'm waiting till I hve enough lisence points earned up before I set out to making her Empress Augusta version though. What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
AWA 2008 as Host Club. 'nuff said ^^
Do you participate in masquerades?
No. I truth I hate competing. Reminds of waaaay back when I was forced to compete in violin competitions. I only do it when my friends really want me too.
