What got you into cosplay?
Ah, cosplaying was always an idea. Since I was a child. But until 2004 there wasn't any cosplay events to go, and I was so young!
What was your first costume and why?
Meilin from Card Captor Sakura, it was 'easy' to make, and I asked my grandma to do it, of course, as a cosplay noob. I love her witty style and personality, it was easy to get into the character!
What is your favorite costume and why?
I proudly have the first Sode no Shirayuki (Kuchiki Rukia's zanpakutou, from Bleach) of Brazil.
I like my Rukia costumes, but there's a lot i'd like to improve. I got a wig recently, and i'm waiting for oportunities to take better shots of it. I really love Rukia.
My Advent Children movie Yuffie costume also shines in my heart. My grandma did it with lots of effort sewing it and my shuriken wasn't very hard to make (thank you my sons Ichimaru and Renji for the wood prop). And my best friend Rachel helped me so much with the pattern painting of the shirt. Yuffie is the character I think is the most likely to my own personality.
Aaaaand of course, my Alabasta Nami outfit, 'cause of my MUGIWARA KAAAAAIZOKUDAN! My amazing friends that made aaaall look so acurate! My pirate crew is flawless! And of couse, I took lots of effort in that outfit too, it only appeared in 2 color spreads of manga. And I've decided to use manga colors. My logpose is pretty, and i've sewed little beads in my soutien and skirt, to look like a real belly-dance outfit.
and Sailor Star Fighter, my current obsession. I loved it very much, it was one of my most expensive costumes, high-heels boots transvestite boots. And I dedicate it to the best Fighter ever, Katayama Sayuri. That's why our costumes are manga and Sera Myu based navy-blue sailor fuku.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Nina Wang maester otome outfit, from Mai Otome, ok, need armor skills improvement to do.
Paine from FFX-2, i'll work on it next semester. :D
and Hikaru Shidou, probably released next semester too.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Sakurakko Club and Mugiwara Kaizokudan.
Firstly Sakurakko, lot's of headaches, haha, lot's of love and a great greeeeeeat Sera Myu Musical we made at the anime convention! We performed over a hole hour! We had more than 30 people in the cast, including all Sailors and lot's of enemies on stage! AWESOMENESS! We rehersal all the year for that!
And now we're planning a Kaiteban ;))) (it's a second musical with improved story, for those who don't know)
And of course my pirates, my love! My cute crew, my awesome crew! The most amazing crew of the history! My best friends all dressed as Oda's pirates! Flawless!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I've never participate of the contests, I don't think I would create something nice to show to people.
But i'm sometimes a Cosplay Contest hostess or judge, though ;)
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm in Design college here in Brazil, I love my boyfriend and friends, I love cosplay, anime/manga, photography, webdesign, images, etc.
Just normal. ;)
