About Me / Q&A

What got you into cosplay?
Admiring people, for some reason, to me always lead to me emulating them in dress. So that kinda started it... Wanting to play around with my appearance and just enjoying the craftsmanship of it it what kept me into it. As I shadowcast more things, I like cosplay more. That, along with it being, primarily, a social activity to me. I like to cosplay with my friends. When we see something that we all identify with, we like to cosplay it.
What was your first costume and why?
The Bride's track suit from Kill Bill vol. 1. It was the first costume I ever wore to a con. I didn't make it myself, so I don't know how much it counts...xD Kill Bill is one of my favorite movies of all time, so, I took to collecting excessive amounts of memorabilia from it. The ultimate Kill Bill memorabilia, I think, is the Limited Edition Onitsuka Tiger tai-chi shoes, which I saved my behind off to afford, and got. Then I got the suit, and then I had a costume.
What is your favorite costume and why?
2D. I've loved Gorillaz longer than pretty much any other fandom. I kinda consider that costume to be a personal best. I really love wearing it.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Willy Wonka. Burton/Depp version. <3 I'vejust never gotten around it to.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
This isn't from a con, but actually while preparing cosplay, also not necessarily a good memory, but definitely memorable: My best friend and I usually cosplay together, and we were at my house, trying on our PLC "Remembrance" costumes.....and I picked up a mirror, to move it so we could both see ourselves. The mirror was cheap, and part of the cheap plastic frame was broken. I cut a nice sized hunk out of my finger, bled profusely, and passed out shortly there after while washing said wound at the kitchen sink.... So, I was passed out-cold on my kitchen floor in cosplay. I love irony.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I haven't yet. I'd like to.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm currently in college at Georgia State University, majoring in film. What I like to cosplay and how I cosplay kinda comes from my love of shadowcasting. :)
