What got you into cosplay?
I've always enjoyed dressing up. If I admired someone, I wanted to have an outfit like theirs. I always had very specific Halloween costumes as a child. XD Basically, fandom, in general, is what gets me into cosplay.
What was your first costume and why?
The Bride's track suit from Kill Bill vol. 1.
It was the first costume I ever wore to a con. I didn't make it myself, so I don't know how much it counts...xD Kill Bill is one of my favorite movies of all time, so, I took to collecting excessive amounts of memorabilia from it. The ultimate Kill Bill memorabilia, I think, is the Limited Edition Onitsuka Tiger tai-chi shoes, which I saved my behind off to afford, and got. Then I got the suit, and then I had a costume.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Of the things I've made so far, My Yura-sama "Love is Dead" costume. It's actually quite comfortable, and it's the first thing I've made that people actually recognized when I wore it.
This is now closely followed by my Luigi Largo costume...which is oddly enough one of the costumes I was most skeptical about doing. It is sooooooooooo comfortable...and I think it suits me...no hassle. I feel comfortable in it, all around.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
The answer to this when I first joined the website was, "Rolly's sequin jumpsuit from 'Suicide Club'....", then I made that...SO..now...in a huge leap of ambition:
Yura-sama, "Gekiai Merry-go-Round"
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
This isn't from a con, but actually while preparing cosplay, also not necessarily a good memory, but definitely memorable:
My best friend and I usually cosplay together, and we were at my house, trying on our PLC "Remembrance" costumes.....and I picked up a mirror, to move it so we could both see ourselves. The mirror was cheap, and part of the cheap plastic frame was broken. I cut a nice sized hunk out of my finger, bled profusely, and passed out shortly there after while washing said wound at the kitchen sink....
So, I was passed out-cold on my kitchen floor in cosplay.
I love irony.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I haven't yet. I'd like to.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Some woman in the mall said she thought we were "best in show"...but I really don't think that was official..xD ^^
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm currently in college at Georgia State University, majoring in film and video.
I'm an only child, and I live with my mother and father, whom I get along with shockingly well.
My hobbies are mostly fandom-based. I collect action figures and memorabilia, I cosplay. I want to be film-maker......that's all I can think of. xD
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
...Uhm............not really.
