What got you into cosplay?
Cosplay started through roleplaying, which I've stopped doing. I actually got more into creature FX makeup first, and circuitously got into cosplay through that.
What was your first costume and why?
Erik Draven from The Crow. I love the movie, and it was fairly easy to do. All black clothes, facepaint, black temporary hair dye, and a guitar.
What is your favorite costume and why?
again, not a costume persay, but the best time was for high school spirit week, one of the theme days was "twin day", so wanting to be a bit creative, I went as Nurse Golumn from South Park. I bought a 4$ baby doll, which I cut in half, and carefully superglued (yes superglued) to the side of my face. Then covered up the edges with fleshtoned dermawax and stipple. The next year, they did not have twin day.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Yes, I'd like to finalize my Nightcrawler costume from X2: X-men united. I've sunk a couple hundred dollars into it, and may never finish it. I've cast and sculted the hands, and I've drawn up plans for the tail. The paint would be PAX, and the scarring would be bondo (pros-aide + cabosil) because I can't afford to work with silicone. The hands would be foam latex, but again, the reeely should be foam silicon.
Oh wait, I CAN afford to work with silicone. I want to do Ryuk (Ryuuku) from Death Note, and I WILL! Summer 2007 baby.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Again way back in high school, I did Jamie Lee Curtis' character from True Lies for gender-bender day. I made boobs from flesh-colored baloons wich I carefully filled with all-purpose flour. Nowadays, I'd use gelatine, but I was a dumb kid. It felt awesome and kept playing with them the whole day. In 6th period physics, I overstressed one, and it exploded, shooting flour everywhere. The dumb kids thought it was hilarious (it was!) and kept shouting "hey man, his titty exploded!" I was quietly trying to clean up, and the teacher was trying to ignore it and keep teaching. Sure enough he retired that day. I like to take credit for that.
Do you participate in masquerades?
umm....not unless you count Live Action RolePlaying, and I don't really do that anymore. Maybe I should start.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
no. but I am certain I will take some halloween costume contests this year.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'll confess that I'm a musician. I play any intstrument I can get my hands on, and I'm building a theramin.
I'm the founder of The Special FX Wiki. An information repository devoted to special effects makeup, wigmaking, propwork, animatronics, and anything else related to smoke an mirrors. It's a new project, and editing help is needed.

Yoko Kanno is one of the most talented composers of our time. It doesn't matter if you like anime or not, she is a phenomenon. I would chop off a foot to meet her.
