What got you into cosplay?
Going to ACen 02 with one of my friends.
What was your first costume and why?
My first real costume was Princess Zelda from LOZ: OoT (2004).
What is your favorite costume and why?
My TP Zelda costume because it just has so many damn beads, lol. Seriously, though, I am a dedicated LOZ fan, and have wanted to pay it tribute by making a *good* Zelda costume for a long time, which is what I tried to do with that costume. I plan on fixing certain parts of it, like the armor and wig, and adding a few new nick-nacks to it. Should be fun! ^_^; LOZ 4ever, mwahaha! :3
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I have tons, actually. Too many to name. A lot of them are original designs. One of them is Noodle from "The Gorillaz"!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Having to steal a feminine napkin off of a man-sized Katamari ball at the Ohayocon 2005 masq. XD
Do you participate in masquerades?
I've been in a couple, but none of them ended up being very fun.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Definitely ACen 2009! I won "Best Individual" in the Hallway division for my TP Princess Zelda costume, and got to see a 12 foot tall Optimus Prime cosplayer do "the robot" to some silly techno music. How freaking awesome is that??? Hands down, best masq experience EVAR.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Queen Remedy: Ohayocon5 (best advanced craftsmanship)
Princess Zelda (TP): Anime Central 2009 (best individual - hallway)
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm 22 years old and attend Loyola University Chicago. I'm majoring in Secondary Education and English (with a concentration in creative writing), as well as minoring in Spanish (whew, long sentence!). I'd love to become a writer/illustrator someday (as well as an English teacher). I used to do a lot of sports (tennis, martial arts, dancing, figure skating) but now-a-days I don't have as much time (or money) for them. ;-; I get exercise from occasional DDR and WiiFit, lol. I'm also studying Japanese and Spanish (as you may have guessed from my minor!). I work part time at Gamestop with a great crew of nerds and at the Stadium Club (at US Cellular Field) as a waitress. :3
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Sweedish fish are amazing. So are Russian pastries.
