What got you into cosplay?
Well it all started out with watching anime when I was little (not knowing it was indeed anime of course). Then one summer right before I got into sixth grade my friends introduced me to a little anime called InuYasha and then I was hooked. From then I on I started to get into everything from doujinshi, fanfiction, yaoi/BL, graphic designing, RPG, videogames, and everything else that seems to come along with the package of being an otaku. Recently I found out that my little city of Atlanta houses one of the South-East's biggest anime conventions, AWA Anime Weekend Atlanta. Suddenly I've been addicted to my sewing and shopping endlessly for cosplay/crossplay supplies. I guess things just have been slowly but steadily moving me towards cosplaying ever since sixth grade.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was of one of my favorite original characters. Amazingly his name is Reamy (just like my name) and is the beautiful bad boy of Osaka Private School. I'd always felt more masculine than feminine so this cosplay was perfect for me. After all was said and done, I looked more like a J-rocker and confused a few people into trying to guess my gender. They failed miserably I must say. It premered at AWA12 2006 in September. I think I loved this cosplay more than I should.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Ugh...htat's realllllyyyyy hard to choose. Um...I guess my favorite so far was Naruto. : D I know...I'm one in a zillion. But it was SO much fun being recognized so much! : D
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Um...Izaiyoi (sp?) from InuYasha, InuYasha, and Sesshomaru. I still love that old anime!!! :D
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
MY most memorable cosplay expirience was at AWA12 in Atlanta when Vic and Travis (Edward Elric and Mustang) baptized me into the world of anime conventions. They signed my first ever badge with "Just baptized" and "BAPTIZED!" after I saw their panel.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I WANT TO! DARN IT AWA!!!! HAVE AFREAKING MASQUERADE!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yes: "Best in Show: Manga" - Sano Izumi + Mizuki Ashiya = Hana-Kimi
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm currently a home school student in my 10th year of schooling. I have too many hobbies to count. Mainly anime and manga, sewing, the opposite sex, chocolate sampling XD, shopping, martial arts: shinkendo, bojutsu, aikido, and other hobbies on the list...
