What got you into cosplay?
It seems like all roads, anime-related and otherwise, have led me to it.

Costuming has always fascinated me, but when I got too old for Halloween trick-or-treating, I didn't have an event to wear costumes to. It was my dream to someday become skilled enough for historical costuming.
For a while I just worked on others' costumes. Yet, after seeing such fantastic cosplayers at SDCC every year, ("I swear that person just stepped out of the comic book"), and after hearing how excited my friends were about cosplay, I decided to give it a shot.
After all, every interest I have can somehow be tied to cosplay. Why not? ^_~
What was your first costume and why?
My first -costume-? Oh, dear, I don't even remember! My first cosplay will be Atan Hadas (Threads of Time manhwa).
What is your favorite costume and why?
My kimono. It was a spur-of-the-moment fabric purchase that became something beautiful. I made my pattern entirely from reading about traditional techniques. No fake Simplicity or McCall's patterns for me! (ALTHOUGH, just saw a fairly accurate Simplicity pattern in this year's Halloween catalog. It's called Memoirs, inspired by that Geisha movie. Looks good if anyone wants a kimono/obi/etc pattern...)
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
A Civil War era ball gown. If I can successfully do something that detailed, I will truly have become skilled at sewing and costume research.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Staying up all hours of the night to work on a friend's costume. Right before driving a couple hundred miles to a convention. O_O
Do you participate in masquerades?
No. Maybe someday I'll have the guts and skills to try it once, for the fun of it. (I hate competition.)

A majorless (now almost major-ful) college student with too many hobbies for her own sanity.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I have different goals for each cosplay.
Possible goals:
1. I'm getting the word out and showing my support for a lesser known work.
2. I just want to make/own a certain costume.
3. I want it "Look-Alike" good. (With my distinct nose, it ain't gonna happen. >.<)
4. My friends need a foil to help them shine. ^_~
Goal #4 will happen the most, I bet. *resigned sigh* It's already demanded that I be Zelda (Twilight Princess version) and Taki (SCII armored version). Like I can pull those off... O_O
My favorite anime
Let's start the list with... Rurouni Kenshin, Otogi Zoshi, Gundam Wing, Saiunkoku Monogatari, Ghost Hunt, and Pumpkin Scissors... And maybe I should add a comedy, like Ouran High Host Club or Excel Saga, and...
You get the idea. I have lots of favorites. >.< Also deciding about: Le Chevalier d'Eon, Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto, Shounen Onmyouji, La Corda d'Oro ~primo passo~, and some newer titles.

Only somewhat recently got a PS2, and I don't play video games frequently. Thus: DDR, FFX, Soul Calibur II & III. [And just got a Wii, with Soul Calibur Legends, of course.]

I'm a reader and writer. Any favorite books list goes on for at least a page. *sweatdrop*
My favorite character(s)
... Intriguing ones. Especially characters seeking redemption, like Kenshin Himura (Rurouni Kenshin) or Mansairaku (Otogi Zoshi, 2nd arc).
