What got you into cosplay?
The rewarding feeling of creating an entire wardrobe, and the fun/mass chaos of photos/posing, and general Con-craziness.
What was your first costume and why?
My first official cosplay was as Vincent Valentine, at Kumoricon 2006. I chose him because he is my favorite character, and seemed like a costume that would quickly throw me into the cosplay world. It was no easy task, and I enjoyed the final result.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I'd have to go with my Barret Wallace, as it turned out exactly like I planned it and it was just so well-received. I know Barret is very undercosplayed, so it made me feel good to know I represented the character well.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Hmmmm, there are many. My top idea, though quite impossible at the moment, would be Anima from Final Fantasy X. Oh.....soooo wicked!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
The mock-battle I took part in at Kumoricon 2007. At the Final Fantasy photoshoot, a battle randomly broke out of good guys vs. Turks, and I was lucky enough to take part as Barret Wallace. It was epic. ^_^
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not yet, though I would like to some day.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yes, I won the award for "Baddest Mofo" in the Kumoricon 2007 Hall Cosplay Competition, for my Barret Wallace costume.
Tell us a little about yourself
I am currently working my way through Portland State University, towards an English degree. As for hobbies, I love poetry, writing and reading it, music, black/gothic metal and j-pop/rock, anime, manga, cosplay, video games, photography, modeling when the opportunity arises.
