What got you into cosplay?
Actually, Harry Potter got me into Cosplaying. I didn't get real heavy into it until I went to Lumos in Las Vegas in the summer 06, and ever since then I've been rabidly obsessed.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was Lily Evans from Harry Potter. She's my favorite Harry Potter character and since I have naturally red hair, I'm often told I resemble her. Needless to say, that particular costume was a huge success, though I'm a bit burnt out on Harry Potter now. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) I don't watch anime, so all my costumes are video game focused.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Reno, hands down. I always have the most interesting things happen to me when I'm dressed like him. ALWAYS. Without fail. I also love how the wigs change my entire outlook and attitude. It's like putting on a different persona, when you put on those wigs. My demeanor totally changes. ;)
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I'd love to make an accurate Zelda and Shiek costume. A really good one, since I'm a perfectionist. I'll also admit to wanting to make Belle's ball gown from Beauty and the Beast. That's gonna be a total bitch, but I'm gonna do it...hopefully someday.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Getting hit on by a transvestite while dressed as Reno. I was leaning against a wall and she asked me what my name was. I didn't know she was a transvestite till later, but it was still amusing -- she was actually a very convincing woman, and I don't think I make a very convincing man. Heh. I guess it's flattering, in a way.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes!
What was your best masquerade experience?
Youmacon 07. We swept the masq with Kingdom Hearts and Beatmania. It was great because all of us had worked sooo hard on our costumes. We all came together and kicked ass, and some of the costumes had never even been done before.
