What got you into cosplay?
At first, I just wanted to dress as a favorite character, so my first semi-foray into cosplay was for a high school spirit day/Hallowe'en 2001; I was Tekken 3 Hwoarang. When I went to my first ACen in 2004 and saw Vincent Valentine strolling down the street...that hooked me. That, and c'mon - animé and game characters have some pretty awesome clothes.
What was your first costume and why?
As I said, Tekken 3 Hwoarang if you want to be technical, 'cause he is my absolute favorite character in Tekken.
First convention costume was Anna Williams' 2P costume from Tekken 5. Again, love for teh Tekken, and because I'd never seen anyone cosplay Anna before.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Right now, I'd have to say it's my Doma-era Mai Valentine (Kujaku Mai) costume from ACen 2006. It's gotten me a lot of praise, and it's one of the most fun ones I've done. There's not enough love for the YGO Doma arc, *lol* and Mai is one of the few women in animé/manga that kicks some major booty and doesn't have to whine or cling to a man.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I would absolutely LOVE to pull off Trance Kuja from FFIX. Also, Gunner Rikku from FFX-2...man, there's just so many!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
The entirety of Animé Iowa 2007...especially when I broke Link's brain, :D
Do you participate in masquerades?
I was on the walk-on at ACen 2006 as Mai, and in the skits at Reactor 2006 as Mokuba Kaiba.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Definitely the walk-on, though the skit was funny as well.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm currently a student majoring in criminal justice and yes, I do hate my job, *lmao* Retail sucks, what else can I say? Other than that, my loves range around writing, karaoke, sketching, video games, animé/manga, '80s music and just the decade in general...what else would you like to or need to know?
