What got you into cosplay?
I first encountered cosplay at anime expo 2000, but at the time had no intrest in being part of it myself. It wasn't until after I met a friend of mine online and she introduced me into her hobby of cosplay I decided to try it as well. Since then it's been an on and off hobby, but I enjoy it when I have group to cosplay with.
What was your first costume and why?
Ken Masters from Street Fighter, because it was EASY! lol I was really just trying cosplay out to have fun with the people I was with, and went with Ken Masters because I already had a red gi from my martial arts classes.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Probably Alexander Anderson from Hellsing, simply because it's one that my features fit best. My face fits into the character easily, and I can follow through with the acting better on him than most. Also I'm proud of the authentic catholic gear the costume uses.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Devilman. It's one that would require more time, money, and effort I'm probably willing to ever spend. But if I had to have one, that would be it.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Being part of the Mini-Masq in Anime Expo 2003. I was just walking through the hallways and suddenly a person walked up to me and asked if I'd be in the Mini-Masq. I had nothing better to do and agreed. So I had an hour to come up with a good skit idea... and produced one in five minutes. Somehow I won a judge's award. I was just happy to be there.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes, I've been in one skit now and I was in the Mini-Masq by myself.
What was your best masquerade experience?
The mini-masq where I won my little award. Least pressure event I've ever been in.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Judge's Award for the Mini-Masq of 2003 AX.
Tell us a little about yourself
I go to school and work full time to support myself. I have two cats (Clarice and Hannibal), and live with two room mates. I'm a bit secretive but very interested to learn all I can about others. So... guess you'll have to ask me something to learn more.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Living in Las Vegas, going to school for film and photography. That being said, I'm looking to use cosplayers as practice for my photo skills. But with there being only one con (now) out here in Vegas it can be difficult to find subjects. If you live by me and are interested in getting some shots taken, drop me a PM.
