What got you into cosplay?
After going to Otakon my first year (2001) I decided the convention would be more fun if I were one of those people in costume.
What was your first costume and why?
Dotta from Bakaretsu Hunters was my first character. I picked her because I have a superficial resemblance (read dark hair) and didn't want to bother with a wig on my first costume. Plus I wanted to be a character with pointed ears (I considered Leaf from Lodoss wars for a while, but wasn't up for making armour on my first costume either). Dotta seemed perfect, cute, pointed ears, and her costume was simple to make/put together.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I seem to wear Yaone most often.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Sakura's mother, Nadeshiko
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Having someone, after buying a print, telling me "by the way, you have very nice breasts."
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yup. At AB, AZ, and Connecticon (2004) I bastardized Shakespeare. Fractured Fairy Tales was performed at CTcon, AB, and AZ (2005). Mangled Movies only at AB in 2006. Vampire Miyu Elegance was performed at AB in 2007.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Each has its own memoriable things that make it the best. But we did win a Judges Award for Presentation at AB for our Bastardized Shakespeare. Plus hanging out with everyone backstage that year was incredible.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Judges Award for Bastardizing Shakespeare.
